Get ready to recycle demolition waste with WasteX-Solution

Smart materials and technologies for greener concrete industry and waste management companies.

From waste into concrete

We develop technologies for recycling demolition waste and industrial side streams into new raw materials. Our Material services provide solutions from raw materials to meet the needs of the low-carbon concrete industry and construction sector.

WasteX-Solution is divided into three key areas: recycling technologies, material services, and waste-based end products. We create both partial and comprehensive solutions tailored to our customers’ needs for utilizing waste and industrial side streams.

Competitive Advantage in Raw Material Production

Our patented WasteX-technology cleans and grinds demolition and construction waste into new binder material for the concrete industry.

With our WasteX-line, demolition materials are cleaned and ground into new raw materials for the concrete industry and construction needs. After sorting, cleaning, and grinding, the process produces fine powder for geopolymer concrete production.

The equipment can process materials such as mineral wool, concrete, brick, glass, gypsum, and blast furnace slag into raw materials.

WasteX

  • Provides raw material independence
  • Provides versatility in binders
  • Reduces industrial waste and the use of virgin materials
  • Lowers the carbon footprint of concrete by 85%

Our customers are typically waste management and recycling companies looking for ways to commercially utilize hard-to-process waste materials, increase material self-sufficiency, or reduce costs and emissions.

Grind Blast Furnace Slag Yourself

WasteX-technology offers a compact system for grinding blast furnace slag.

Blast furnace slag is a side stream of the production of iron, which, when finely ground, has so-called latent hydraulic properties. These properties are activated by the reaction of cement and water, when the slag develops strength. Blast furnace slag concrete is often used, for example, in the casting of massive structures.

Blast furnace slag is one of the most common raw materials used in the production of green concrete. It can effectively reduce the carbon footprint of concrete.

Slag Grinding Unit

  • Provides economic benefits, as self-produced slag is 30-65% cheaper than purchased cement
  • Reduces the carbon footprint of concrete production by 25-40%
  • Is a cost-effective investment with a fast payback period up to 3 years
  • Reduces the amount of side streams generated by the company ending up in landfill

Low-carbon mass from raw materials

The raw materials grinded from demolition waste are put to use using a geopolymer mixes developed by EcoUp, which our customers can use when replacing virgin materials with powder made from construction and demolition waste.

Customers can be, for example, manufacturers of various construction products. Learn more about our material technology here!

Low-carbon concrete products from demolition waste

A concrete-like material, Geoblend can be utilized as various coatings, cast or pressed infrastructure and interior products, or, for example, as a multipurpose Cubeco designed for urban construction. This way, demolition waste gets a new life as high-value products instead of going to landfill. Scroll the end products below.

EPD Certifications

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardized way of presenting the environmental impacts of a product during its life cycle based on a life cycle assessment.

Our Geoblend mass and Cubeco block suitable for infrastructure construction are EPD certified in 2024 and proven low-emission alternatives for concrete construction.

Processing of Demolition Waste

Our work with demolition waste started with mineral wool. We have installed it, learned how to reuse factory waste as blown wool, and now we are turning demolition wool and other demolition waste into raw material for geopolymers using the WasteX. The recycled material obtained from demolition waste gives new life to the resources we already use.

In addition to grinding demolition materials, we have expertise in utilizing ground material in material technology. The binder in concrete, cement, can be partially or completely replaced with a waste-based binder, resulting in a strong, concrete-like material, Geoblend. Our leading geopolymer laboratory in Europe produces material solutions for our customers’ needs.

Low-carbon concrete products made from demolition material can be utilized as various coatings, cast or pressed infrastructure and interior design products, or, for example, as Cubeco.
